Frequently Asked Questions

We do our best to make kit assembly simple with instructions that are easy to follow and understand, but sometimes you’ll encounter a situation that has you scratching your head. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions we encourage you to read through. You might find just the answer you’re looking for or come across a solution before you even need it!

CONTACT US
  • I placed an order for a Project Kit, when will it be delivered?

Your Project Kit will ship from our facility within 14 days and transit typically takes 3-5 business days, so you can expect delivery around 20 days after your order is confirmed.

  • Do you offer any programs for builders, contractors, or retail dealers?

Yes, we are constantly expanding our network of LBO Partners. Give us a call or submit your information on our Contact Us page to learn more.

  • How are LBO Project Kits different from other kits?

Our goal is to provide the highest quality Project Kits on the market. We do this by building our kits with premium hardware, top-quality lumber, and focusing on detail and precision. When you have an LBO Project Kit in your outdoor space, you’re making a statement.

  • Should I stain my Project Kit?

We encourage all customers to stain or seal their Project Kit to help protect against the elements. Staining your Project Kit also allows you to choose a color complementary to its surroundings.

  • What if the Project Kit is delivered before I’m ready to install it?

You should clear a space for storage that is sheltered from the elements and not anywhere you would mind losing a patch of grass.

  • Are installation instructions available?

We will provide step-by-step installation instructions once your order is confirmed and also include a copy with the Project Kit. If you purchased a Custom Project Kit, you will receive installation instructions before shipping and also included with your Project Kit.

  • What’s the best way to measure my space for a pergola or pavilion?

Once you have decided on the placement of your Project Kit, you’ll want to measure and record the outermost reaches of that area while also considering the desired height of the structure and if that will affect the footprint of the structure (are there tree branches in the way or anything else that would limit the size of your Project Kit).

  • How do you measure your Project Kits?

Project Kit dimensions are based on the outermost reaches of the structure. For example, a 12×12 pergola may have posts spaced at a 10×10 area but the rafters of the pergola extend to cover the full 12×12 area.

  • Can I hire you to install the Project Kit for me?

We don’t currently offer installation services but have an ever expanding network of professionals that can help you. Give us a call or submit your information on our Contact Us page to learn more.

  • How do I get specifications, blueprints, or drawings so I can get the necessary approvals?

You will receive the Project Kit drawing that you can use for approvals once your order is confirmed. If you require other documentation or an engineering stamp for your Project Kit, an additional fee will be charged based upon what is needed.

  • How will my Project Kit be delivered?

We use LTL carriers to deliver our Project Kits. They will use a lift gate to unload the pallet(s) from the truck but you will need to be prepared to move the pallet(s) or contents of the pallet(s) to your desired installation or storage location. We strongly suggest having several strong and able-bodied individuals with you to assist with moving the contents of the pallet(s), as each pallet will have several pieces of lumber and hardware.

  • What should I do if the Project Kit is damaged when I receive it?

We take great care to ensure your Project Kit will arrive in pristine condition, however in the event there is damage you will need to follow a few steps depending on the scenario.

    • If there is substantial damage to the pallet/shipping crate and contents are also damaged, we strongly suggest you take pictures to send to us, refuse the shipment, and contact us immediately. The refused shipment will be returned to our facility where we will inspect the contents, replace any damaged material, repack, and reship the Project Kit.
    • If during the unloading process you find only some of the material is damaged or missing, you must notate the damaged or missing material on the carrier’s paperwork before you sign to accept delivery. We also ask that you take pictures of the damaged material. This will allow us to process a claim with the shipping company for the damaged or missing materials. If no notation of damaged or missing parts is made on the carrier paperwork, you will have to purchase the replacement materials and pay the associated shipping costs. We understand the inconvenience a situation like this can create and will do our best to quickly ship all replacement materials.
  • Do I need to do anything to prepare for delivery?

We strongly suggest having several strong and able-bodied individuals available to assist in the unloading process as the shipment can have several heavy pieces of lumber and/or hardware. You will want to have an area prepared to place the materials as you unload them from the pallet/crate so that you can check that you received the complete kit in good condition before signing the carrier’s paperwork.

  • Do you have any financing options?

Yes, we offer financing through PayPal Credit.

  • Do you only offer the sizes listed?

We offer Custom Project Kits that can be made to the size or dimensions needed for your situation.

  • Can I order a custom Project Kit?

Yes, all you have to do is fill out our Custom Project Request Form and will we contact you to begin the process.

  • What happens after I place my order?

After you place your order, you will be contacted by an LBO representative to confirm your order details and answer any questions you might have. You will then be emailed an Order Confirmation and we will get to work building your Project Kit!

  • What is your policy on return or refunds?

We do not accept returns or process refunds. Each Project Kit is built to order specifically for the size, dimensions, and other options selected for each order. Because of this, all sales are final and we do not offer returns or refunds.
